Trey Dye, Abilene Cooper High
One of the most versatile players in the history of Cooper High School, Trey Dye, class of 2014, saved some of his best games for the biggest stages. In the 2013 Great American Rivalry Game against Abilene High, a 56-31 Cooper High win, Trey rushed for 174 yards on 12 carries, averaging a whopping 14.5 yards per carry, with two touchdowns. He also caught two passes for 39 yards and a touchdown. That game, along with the 45-24 bi-district win over Arlington Lamar, where Trey rushed for 282 yards on 23 carries were the hallmark games in the Cooper Cougar football career of Trey Dye.
In total, in his Cooper High School football career, Trey rushed for 1702 yards on 218 carries with 27 touchdowns, while also catching 42 passes for 716 yards and 5 touchdowns, making him a true superstar both in the Great American Rivalry series, and at Cooper High School. Trey is currently attending Brigham Young University on a football scholarship and is playing wide receiver for the BYU Cougars.
Keevan Lucas, Abilene High School
Keevan Lucas was a member and captain of the 2012 Abilene High Football team. In the 2012 game versus Abilene Cooper, Keevan had 16 receptions for 220 yards. His 16 receptions is an all-time Abilene High single game record. Also, his 220 yards receiving is all-time single game record for the Eagles. The Eagles went on to win the game 31-27 on the final play of the game. Keevan finished his career 2nd in receptions all-time (124) and 4th all-time receiving yards with 1,824. Keevan is now a member of the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes football team. Last year he had 101 receptions and over 1200 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns. Keevan could not accept the award because he will be playing the New Mexico Lobos on September 12 at 7pm and will be aired on ESPN3.
