Maryville High School Hall of Fame Inductee: Larry Johnston

Larry was a sophomore on the 1964 team that helped Maryville to their first Championship victory. He was a 1966 All American and was recruited by the University of Tennessee where he majored in Economics and Transportation. In 1970, he was Golden Gloves in boxing. Currently Larry involves himself in real estate Ventures.

Alcoa High School Hall of Fame Inductee: Tyris Gilmore Jr.

Tyris is a two time Daily Times, Blout County Player of the Year. He was also News Sentinel Player of the Year. In addition, he is a 1992 Mr. Football Finalist and a two time “All State” selection. He continued his football career at Mississippi State University. In basketball, Tyris was three time “All State”, he was the district tournament MVP, “All State” tournament MVP and led Alcoa to the 1992 State Championship game.
