2012 Hall of Fame: Michael Branthover and Tom Kohler

From Dematha High School- Michael Branthover:

Michael played in the DeMatha-Good Counsel rivalry his freshman, sophomore, junior and senior seasons. As a senior captain of the 2010 squad, he led his team to a 31-28 victory over Good Counsel in the regular season matchup. With less than 2 minutes remaining in the game the All-Met kicker converted a 33 yard game winning field goal to give DeMatha the thrilling victory. Michael earned a scholarship to kick for Virginia Tech and is currently a sophomore. He is not able to be here tonight as he is currently playing for the Hokies. Accepting the award on Michael’s behalf is DeMatha kicking Coach John Moylan.

From Good Counsel High School- Tom Kohler:

Tom is a teacher and coach here at Good Counsel in his 48th year. He was assistant football coach for 31 years, head football coach 6 years with a 44-22 win loss record. He was also involved with the baseball team for 15 years and as head baseball coach and won a league championship in 1972. He has also coached basketball and track where he was the assistant coach for 4 and 5 seasons. Tom has coached 4 sports here at Good Counsel and been instrumental in the success of its athletic program. Please welcome our own Tom Kohler as a most deserving Hall of Fame recipient.
