2011 Scholar Athletes: Alex Grillo and Mike Madaras

From St John’s: Alex Grillo
Alex is a defensive back for St. John’s and carries a 4.48 GPA. He has received honor with distinction all four years of high school. He is a member of the National Honor Society, is a De La Salle Scholar, and has won the departmental award for science. He is a member of the wind ensemble in the orchestra and is Vice President of the student body.

From Good Counsel High School: Mike Madaras
Mike plays offensive lineman and has a GPA is 4.1 with the majority of his junior and senior classes being AP & Honors Classes. After the past two football seasons, Mike has helped coach a youth basketball team. Next year Mike will attend the University of Maryland where he will study engineering and play football. This season, “Rivals of Maryland” has ranked Mike the #1 Offensive Lineman in the state.
