2009 Scholar-Athletes: Zachary Denham and Brian Applegate

Zachary Denham is the son of Kimberly Kavadas and has a 4.324 GPA. He is a four-year member of the New Philadelphia basketball, football, and tennis teams and a member of the National Honor Society. Zach attended the Essex School for the Gifted and the National Youth Leadership Forum this past summer. He is a four-year member of the Academy Challenge Team and the Student Council.

Brian Applegate is a first-year letter winner in football. He plays safety for Dover and has a 3.952 GPA. The son of Bill and Colleen Appplegate, Brian is a member of the National Honor Society, Scholar Challenge, and the marching band. He plans to attend Ohio State to major in jazz studies.
